Take on the Machine Hackerspace Challenge Premiere
Early this summer, Crash Space was invited to participate in the nationwide VIMBY/Scion Hackerspace Challenge. A contest that includes 5 diverse groups who are into DIY and Making (in coastal order from right-to-left): NYC Resistor, Artisan’s Asylum, Pumping Station One, The Transistor, and Crash Space. The main focus of the challenge is to repurpose a manufactured item following the theme of a movie. And it has to be fun.
Every step of the contest at each hackerspace was filmed and has been turned into a web mini-series called Take on the Machine. The first episode of the series went live today! In this episode, Mitch Altman introduces the challenge and gives us a glmpse of all the entries. Watch it!

Haha, I didn’t expect to make it to the final cut. Surprising how much of us they used. We come off looking pretty cool!

It will be cool to see how they condense 3 weeks of filming into about 5 minutes.
