CRASHx Spring 2025

Ever launched into a spontaneous ten-minute rant about the mycorrhizal fungal networks underneath forests? Ever delivered impassioned evidence for the Pokémon Great War Theory at a party where literally no one asked? Well, this time—we are asking. Hear ye, hear ye: come one, come all to the very first Crashx PowerPoint Party, an evening of personal projects, passions, and peculiarities. Whether you want to explain why the universe is optimized for black holes instead of human life, or explain to us just what in the heck a lathe is (seriously, someone please)—this is your moment.
This isn’t your middle school science fair. There are no grades, no underpaid educators, and definitely no trifold poster boards (unless you’re into that, in which case, go off). Sign up to give a talk—shortform or longform, technical or whimsical. We’re holding space for hot takes, deep dives, passion projects, personal epiphanies, and even the occasional unhinged conspiracy about how birds aren’t real. Want to just attend and see what people have to say? RSVP here!
Not ready to take the mic? Find some inspiration, or simply come as a listener and let yourself be delighted, surprised, and maybe just a little overwhelmed by the brilliance of your fellow Crashers.
So, what’s been living rent-free in your brain? Sign up, speak up, and let your curiosity bubble over. The soapbox is set. The spotlight is yours. We can’t wait to hear what makes your weird little heart short-circuit.

Rules:
No Heckling. No Hijacking. No Backseat Presenting or Debating. If you want to talk, then sign up for your own time slot; otherwise, be mindful and respectful of the scheduled speaker’s time. If the speaker is willing to answer questions mid-way, then great, if not: wait for the Q&A if they’re offering one.
Consent Is Key. Don’t record or take photos of speakers unless they say it’s okay. What happens on the soapbox stays on the soapbox—unless they want to go viral, in which case, support their influencer dreams.
Content Warnings Are Cool. If your presentation touches on sensitive, graphic, or potentially triggering topics, give folks a heads up. A little care goes a long way. Read more about presentation rules for sensitive content on the Crashx Proposal Form.
Have Fun, Stay Weird, Be Awesome. This is a playground for ideas, passions, and projects. Bring your best self—and snacks.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Drops Mic. *Finger Guns and slowly walks backward*
